According to Patently Apple, they have found an Apple patent in which it suggests that the company is exploring the idea of a keyboard in the future that could allow users to set the sound levels and force levels for their key presses. This means that if you’re working in an office environment and don’t want to disturb the people around you, you could set the keyboard in such a way that its audio feedback might be quieter.
Users can also change the force levels, where if you prefer gaming on a keyboard that has more responsive key presses, you can set it that way, and change it to something else for typing or doing work. It is a very interesting patent, although it does seem to be a rather complicated thing to setup.
We’re not sure if Apple actually plans to make this a reality since it does seem to be more effort than it is worth. After all, for the most part no one really has any complaints about Apple’s current Magic Keyboard, so we’re not sure if the company might deem this to be a worthwhile investment.
